Warm up consisted of a mosey to the Great Hall from the parking area.  Side Straddle Hop, Windmill, Arm Circles, Moroccan Night Club, Mosey around perimeter of  the “Field”.  

The Thang

“Field of Dreams” – Home Plate (Burpees), First Base (Merkins, Plank Jacks, Mountain Climbers), Second Base (Curls, Tricep Extension, Overhead Press), Third Base (Squats, Lunges, Squat Jumps).  PAX count off by 4’s  (1’s First Base, 2’s Second Base, 3’s Third Base, and 4’s Home Plate).  Home Plate pax perform 10 Burpees, while all other pax perform AMRAP of designated exercises at thier base.  When pax at home plate complete 10 Burpees all pax rotate to next base until all rotate to home plate.  At the conclusion of each rotation all pax from thier base run around perimeter of field and conclude at the next station.  Rinse and Repeat three complete rotations.  

Concluded with round of Mary’s.

Discussed my time in Italy and while in Assisi visited the church of St. Francis.  I felt that if we could all live by the words of this prayer our community and our world would be a greater place.

    Began with 4 Corners warm up:  SSH, Plank Jacks, Mountain Climbers, Imperial Walkers. Rotated through all four stations and did exercises IC x 15.  Mosey along path to rear of dog park and around to pavilion and to “Heart Break Hill”.  Concluded warm up with Willie Mays Hayes, Third Grade Exercises, and Ham String Stretches.

    The Thang

    Heart Break Hill (HBH) / Dora 123

    Partnered up at bottom of (HBH). 

    Round 1:  Partner 1 Runs up / down (HBH) while partner 2 conducts exercises.  Merkins (100), LBC’s (200), Squats (300) – During this round it ended up that each PAX conquered (HBH) once during Merkins, twice during LBC’s, and four times during Squats.

    Round 2: (because this group was kicking ass) we modified to AMRAP for exercises while partner did (HBH) once for Merkins,  twice for LBC’s, and three times, but instead of squats we did lunges.

    Round of Mary’s:  We did round of Mary’s until time was complete.  All done (IC) x 10: American Hammer, Heel Touches, Leg Lifts, Hello Dolly.

    This was nice even number of 6 PAX so it worked well with DORA’s.  Had to give DeepDish some remedial training on the difference between SSH and Mountain Climbers!!! 🙂  I’m not sure if the hill going from street level up to pool has an official name, but to me, it will be now called “Heart Break Hill” (HBH)!  The real message was fairly simple:  “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm” — Ralph Waldo Emerson.  Go out and Make It A Great Day, especially for someone else.

      All Stations are AMRAP while PAX at Burpee station does 10 Reps and sounds off to rest of PAX to AYG to next station. Rinse and Repeat until 3 rotations are complete.

      All PAX line up and AYG approx 25 yards perform Bobby Hurley and AYG back. Rinse and Repeat 2 times. Last Sprint is AYG approx 50 yards perform Bobby Hurley and AYG back to start.

      Praise and Prayer request . Yesterday in Church I was reminded, at a time that I needed it, that there is life after death, and we’ll be reunited with our loved ones in the Kingdom. The Transfiguration in Mark 9:1-13 reinforces that. I personally have dealt with a lot of death of family and friends, it will happen . I know there will be a wonderful reunion in our Heavenly Kingdom. Remember there is no expiration on a birth certificate. When that time comes will you be ready?

        PAX divided into three groups, each containing a fair number of FNGs

        Prescription for Pain
        After meeting at the Combat Medic statue, PAX were each given a prescription with a specified “dose” of an exercise.  Short mosey between the stars as we advanced.  The exercises were cumulative i.e. 1 then 1 and 2 then 1, 2, and 3, etc.

        1 – 8 count Body builder

        2 – Alternating shoulder taps

        3 – burpees

        4 – 4 count flutter kicks

        5 – merkins

        6 – Froggy squats

        7 – 4 count LBCs

        8 – imperial walkers

        Field Of Dreams (Q-TheCount)

        It’s the start of Baseball Season, so AO for Field Of Dreams was set up like the infield on a Baseball Field.  

        PAX counted off by fours and each proceeded to corresponding work station (Base) for start of circuit.

        First Base – (Squats / Lunges)

        Second Base – (Merkins / Plank Jacks)

        Third Base – (LBC’s / Flutter Kicks)

        Home Plate – Burpees

        All rotation controlled by PAX at Home Plate doing Burpees.  Once PAX complete 10 Burpees they sound off to All PAX “ROTATE”, where all PAX AYG to next base.  Home moves to First Base, First Base to Second Base, Second Base to Third Base, and Third Base to Home Plate. 

        At each Base PAX will perform AMRAP of one of the exercises at that location.  They will alternate the exercises on each rotation through that base. 

        Goal is to complete as many rotations around the bases as possible (at least 3-4) in allotted time.


        Across the Hacksaw Bridge (Q – Sidekick)

        *Divide into groups of three and line up:

        Pax 1: Sprint to third tree
        Pax 2: Overhead presses until sprinter returns
        Pax 3: Plank until sprinter returns

          The Thang – Millenial

          Goal is a total count of 2000 total reps as a team. The full pax does 100 reps each of a called exercise, then runs a 100m lap back to a point where they gather again for the next called exercise. There will be 10 cycles, which get you to your number. Teamwork matters. The first nine cycles end when the FIRST person gets to 100, which keeps the pax together. The last cycle, which is always burpees, is done together (We ended up doing Burpees for a solid 4 minutes before time ended.
          Cycles: 1) SSH; 2) Lunges; 3) Merkins; 4) LBCs; 5) Mtn. Climbers; 6) Flutters; 7) Imperial Walkers; 8) Squats; 9) Oblique Crunches – 50 per side; 10) Burpees.  Named as year 2000 is within the time period around which the Millenial generation was born.
          Let me say the mumble chatter was strong today, and mostly because Radio-Head saved me from being up close and personal with a “Land-Mine.”  In this case it was a spent condom!  I of course directed everyone to move several feet from that point!  From that point forward, the barbs and jabs were flying!  At one point I recall Mr. Clean threaten to stuff Geek Squad into that “Land-Mine”…and of course there were a few, “That’s what she said” as well.  All in all it was a fun and enjoyable workout!

          Came from today’s reading from “Forward Day by Day”:  Psalm 37:1,3. Do not fret yourself because of evildoers; do not be jealous of those who do wrong.  Put your trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and feed on it’s riches.
          Most days I haven’t been out of bed very long before I catch sight of a headline on my phone or the front page of the newspaper and plunge headlong into fretting because of evildoers.  This seems a particularly dark time in our country.
          Surely, we aren’t supposed to let evil have it’s way while we sit back and wait for God to make the bad guys “wither like the grass.”
          The psalmist’s advice is quite clear: Trust in the Lord. God is in charge of the endgame.  Do good, boldly resist evil, and work for justice, mercy, and peace.  We are reassured that “there is a future for the peaceable,” and “the future of the wicked is cut off.”
          Trust. Do good. Don’t fret.

          3.  Imperial Walker/Burpee – Partner 1 counts (IC- 10) Imperial Walkers while Partner            2 conducts Burpees.  Switch – rinse and repeat until song stops or Q says to move to            next station.
          4.  Merkins/Squats – Partner 1 does 10 signal count Merkins while Partner 2 does                      single count Squats.  Switch – rinse and repeat until song stops or Q says to move to            next station.
          5.  Bicep Curls/Tricep Ext – (25 lbs coupons) – Partner 1 does 10 Bicep Curl while                        Partner 2 does Tricep Extentions. Switch – rinse and repeat until song stops or Q                  says to move to next station.
          After all pax have rotated through the 5 stations – Mosey to one end of P/L and do AYG Shuttle run of 25 back, 50, back, 75 back.  Proceed back to Circuit Circle and Rinse and Repeat.

          Mosey to beginning of street lights to begin Route 66:  Break Up Group in 3 sets of 5 and 2 sets of 4.  At first light conduct 1 Rep of Exercise AYG to 2nd light and perform 2 reps of same exercise, AYG, rinse and repeat until 11th Light is reached and 11 reps of exercise are performed.  Total is 66.  (Round 1 – Burpees, Round 2 – Squats, Round 3 – Merkins, Round 4 – Lunges). In all 264 reps will be done (if you did them all)… 🙂 with 10 short sprints for a total of 40 AYG. All Pax hold Al Gore until six is complete. Mosey back Blue Rhino.

          SSH, Plank Jacks, Mountain Climbers (15 Reps – IC).  Line up on Track in Indian Run formation.  Conduct Bataan Death March with last PAX performing 3 Burpees before AYG to rest of PAX, tap last man who drops out of formation to conduct 3 Burpees while first PAX continues to front to take up pace.  Once all PAX complete 1 set of Burpees group continues back to starting point for “The Thang”.   

          The Thang

          Doracides:  Partner Up at Starting Point – 25 yards away and spread about 10 yards apart are 3 cones.  First PAX will start with exercises provided by Q, while partner runs to 1st Cone does 1 Burpee, runs back to starting point and back to 2nd Cone performs 2 Burpee’s, runs back to starting point and back to 3rd Cone to perform 3 Burpee’s then back to starting point to trade off with partner.  Rinse and Repeat until all Reps are complete.  All hold Al Gore or Plank until all Pax complete reps.  Exercises are as follows: 100 Merkins, 200 LBC’s, 300 Squats, 400 SSH. Highly motivated PAX then mosey to bleachers and while 1 partner conducts Dips the other runs to top of bleachers and back down to trade with partner.  After 2 rounds move to incline pull up on rail while partner runs up and back on bleachers.

          Starting Point – 25 Reps of each exercise, followed by AYG to next point (approx 50 yards away), proceed to third point in Bear Crawl, then mosey back to starting point and hold Al Gore until all PAX are done.

          SSH, Merkins, Burpees, Jump Squats, Imperial Walkers, Mountain Climbers, Plank Jacks, Lunges.  Total of 200 Reps, 400 yards AYG, 80 yards Bear Crawl. 

          Mosey across and up the street to restroom facilities for Wall Sit routine.- Muhammad Ali’s, Joe Fraziers, Overhead Press, Decline Merkins (feet up on wall). 

          Mosey across street and around playground area and Soccer field back to starting point in P/L. 

          Merry Go Mary’s:  4 Pax each responsible for IC 10 Reps x 2 rotations     = 160 Total Mary’s.

          Very little Mumble Chatter (Good Stuff), that is until we had to Bear Crawl in the mud!! Everyone was working hard, breathing hard, making it worth the early morning wake up!
